In this SlabWare update for the Distributor version, which will soon be available for Exporters and Fabricators, our Notifications system has been redesigned in the web version.
Besides that, a new functionality has been added to the App (Distributor version only, for now) which allows the user to receive notifications on their smartphones.
In this blog post, we’ll go through the types of notifications and talk about which actions will trigger each one of them.
Notifications automatically generated and sent by SlabWare
These notifications are automatically sent by the system as routine updates in the status of an item.
These notifications will be sent for each item that has an Estimated Shipping Date, Shipping Date, or Invoice Due On date of +3 or -3 days counted from the current day, AND for the ones that have any of those on the current day.
- An Order is Pending
- A Pre-order is Pending
- A Payment is pending
- A CRM item (Task, Meeting, or Call) is pending.
And when do I receive these notifications?
It depends on the type of Notification:
- Pending payment: 3 days before Due Date;
On the Due Date;
3 days after the Due Date
- Order: Day before Due Date;
On the Due Date;
- Pre-order: Day before Due Date;
On the Due Date.
- CRM Items: Starting Date 3 days before the current day
The starting date is the current day
The starting date is 3 days after the current day
Example:
Let’s say today is June 18th. Today, you would receive the notifications:
- Payments: Pending from June 15th
Due today
Will be Due on June 21st
- Orders: Due today
Due 19th
- Pre-orders: Due today
Due 19th
- CRM Items: Started June 15th
Start today
Will start June 21st
And how do I select which hour I want to receive these notifications?
In your Settings > Configuring Pages > tab Others, you can select your Time Zone and set up a specific hour in the day when you prefer to receive these kinds of notifications.
Notifications triggered by actions using the Frontend
These notifications are sent when one of the actions below is performed on your Frontend website.
- A new Contact (and Customer) is created in Access Security when your website is private.
- A new Contact (and customer) is created on the website.
- A contact logs into the Customer Area.
- An Order is created.
- A Pre-order is created.
- A Payment is pending
On the Order and Pre-order creation, the salesperson selected during the item creation will receive the notification.
Notifications triggered by actions using the Backend
The system will send these notifications when either you or your workers perform one of the following actions on your Backend page.
- An Order is created.
- A Task, Meeting, or Call is created.
- A Pre-order is created.
- A Delivery Note is issued.
When one of these actions is performed for a salesperson who is not the logged-in user, the system will generate a notification and send it to the salesperson who is responsible.
Check the examples below:
Ex: A salesperson creates an order for another salesperson. The latter will receive the notification.
Ex2: You register a Pre-order and assign it to one of your salespeople. This salesperson will receive the notification..
