6 Simple Configurations SlabWare App must have to Check on Data and Create Orders Offline

Thinking about optimizing your work when you’re heading to do a job in a place without data connection – and even considering the possibility of helping you to expand your business to embrace the inner countryside market – SlabWare is happy to introduce the first offline functionality of our App!

With our new offline functionalities on SlabWare App, you will be able to check on materials and bundles you have in the office, and even create orders for your customers, that will later be synchronized with your SlabWare system and you will be able to see them and work with them as if they were created on the computer as an ordinary order.

In this tutorial, we will go through the steps to synchronize your App before you go Offline, and we will also show you quickly on how to create a new order Offline – and then synchronize it when you’re back online. With no further introductions, let’s get started!

1. Attention: read this before you go Offline in your SlabWare App

Before you activate the Offline Mode, you have to synchronize your system’s data with your device. In this case, to start this configuration, you need to be online.

2. Now, with a data connection available and your device Online, let’s get to work

On the App, get into your menu, click Settings, make sure your Offline Mode is not active, then click Manage Offline Data. See the image below where to find those options.

Then on the next screen, click Manage Bundles, and then Synchronize Data.

Wait for the loading to be completed, as shown in the images below. In this screen, you will be also able to see how much space your device has available, and also when data was updated (S) – and also when your data has been erased (E). We recommend you synchronize it every time right before you go out to do a job that you’re gonna be Offline – this way, you will have always the latest information available on your mobile device.

Now to see your data that has been synchronized, go back to the Manage Offline Data (Menu > Settings > Manage Offline Data). You can see Bundles and Customers in the image below.

To make things clear: you can synchronize your Customers to update them at any moment, without the need to synchronize the bundles. On the other hand, whenever you synchronize your bundles, your customers will be automatically synchronized.

3. With your Data Synchronized, it’s time to Go Offline

After your Data is Synchronized, you can activate the Offline Mode in your Settings screen. When Offline is active, a green icon will be shown both on the menu icon in the upper-left corner of the screen and in front of the Settings option in the menu. It will appear to you like this.

In case you want to consult your information that has been synchronized – such as available bundles – simply use the management mode as usual.

4. Now you can Put Orders Offline Through SlabWare App

With your data synchronized and your Offline Mode now active, let’s get to another important step: how to place an order for a customer in offline mode. When you get into your Sales Mode on your SlabWare App, it will show a screen like this:

For newer versions, you might have to slide your screen from left to right – to “pull the drawer” – so the menu with the button “create order” will appear.

Select the material like the left screen, edit your cart info like the right screen, and then click SAVE ORDER. Your newly created order will now be saved into your device’s memory, as shown in the image below, and when you get back online, all you gotta do is click Synchronize Data so they will be synchronized and appear into your system.

Simple and easy: it is the same process as you already do online.

If you by any chance want to edit or delete an order that has been already saved, you can do that simply by clicking on the three dots on the upper-right corner and then EDIT or DELETE, and you will be redirected to the edition screen. See it in the image below. The third option on the dots will let you synchronize individual orders.

5. Summarizing: Create an Order, save it, and when you’re online, synchronize it

To quickly summarize the process, that is it:

All your materials and customers are now available to be checked and verified offline. If you want to proceed with creating an order for a customer:
