In today’s stone industry, using software that allows you to import data and information from other software is critical to running any operation. When countertop fabricators use multiple tools to do different tasks – scheduling, managing inventory, controlling orders, etc – the integration between systems can cost a lot of time, energy, and mainly money.
It can definitely be a problem if you don’t manage it well!
Imagine this situation: a countertop shop using inventory software to track slabs in their warehouses (and even when they don’t work with inventory and need to use the software to create purchase orders), project management software for scheduling installs, and accounting software for invoicing.
If these tools don’t communicate with each other, there is a double chance of mistakes happening: different entries in multiple systems, and human errors.
A simple example: the software may tag as available some slabs or materials that have already been sold in a recent order.

If you’re dealing with problems related to software implementation in your shop, we’ve listed the 7 most common problems when installing new software – and how to solve them! You can check it out in this blog post.
And furthermore, if your problems are not concerning software, you may find a solution to it in this other post, about the worst 7 mistakes countertop installers make.
And to solve those problems and avoid new ones, you must focus on software integration. With connected tools like Slabware for managing slab inventory and features for customer interactions, scheduling, accounting, etc, every part of the business can be much more efficiently synchronized.
For example, when a slab is added to an order in SlabWare, the software will automatically tag it as “on hold” in the inventory, and stop you from using it in other orders or pre-orders.
For any shop owner who knows how time, deadlines, and customer satisfaction are important factors, such mistakes can be a disaster! Btw, if customer satisfaction has been a problem for you, you might be interested in this post with 7 tips to deal with unhappy customers and how to make them happy.
Investing in integrated solutions doesn’t just cut down on paperwork—it creates a connected business that’s more responsive and efficient.
One of the biggest problems when you start using new software in the company is the time to import the information you’re gonna need to work with that new software. Thinking about this, we’ve decided to show you how SlabWare is an easy tool to import/ your data from previous software you’re using.
With SlabWare, you can easily import your data from any other system you use.
And you can do that using only an Excel file that we provide! Check it out below:
Importing data from other systems into your SlabWare
On the side menu, you have the Import Bundles option:
There are also similar options to import materials, customers, accounts, and products – sinks, faucets, tiles, etc.
When you click on that option, you’ll be redirected to the importing page. Click Download Excel Template (the blue button), as shown below:
You’ll now download the Excel template and fill it in with your bundles’ data – or materials, accounts, or any other item that you are importing. Simply follow the data title in each column.
ATTENTION: The columns in red are mandatory information, and you must not exceed 250 rows per Excel file.
After you’ve done that, get back to the page and hit the green button IMPORT EXCEL. Select the file you’ve just filled in, and let the system import the data.

There is no easier way to do it than this one!
